Why homeowners choose augusta Zoysia

Augusta Zoysia is a great choice if you’re looking for a luxury-looking lawn without high maintenance demands. Its very fine leaf and dense growth create a premium, manicured appearance, but its slower growth rate means less mowing compared to faster-growing grasses.

It performs best in full sun and suits homeowners who want a refined, tidy lawn that stays looking sharp year-round. Augusta can be kept longer for a soft, lush finish or maintained shorter for a more golf course-style look, giving you flexibility depending on how you want your lawn to present.

Is Augusta Zoysia shade tolerant?

Augusta Zoysia doesn't mind some shade - 2-3 hours of direct sunlight per day is all that's required to stay healthy and vibrant. This makes it an excellent choice for partially shaded backyards, courtyards, and under trees, where other turf varieties might struggle.

How much mowing does Augusta Zoysia need?

Being a Zoysia, Augusta is a slower grower. You can get away with mowing it in two week intervals, but it must be consistent. If mowing infrequently, you may scalp and damage the grass, which will take much longer to repair than other varieties, and may cause other issues.

How often does Augusta Zoysia need watering?

Most established lawns need about 25–30mm of water per week to stay healthy. That includes rainfall plus irrigation. In hot weather or sandy soils, you may need closer to 35–40mm. Augusta Zoysia does get heat stress in extreme temperatures and will need more frequent watering during heat waves.

How often does Augusta Zoysia need to be fertilised?

Fertilising requirements depend on your usability, and mowing schedule. If your Augusta is in a high traffic area, and you’re mowing it regularly, you may need up to 3 fertiliser applications per year (summer, autumn and spring).

If your Augusta is in an area with little usage, one to two applications should do.

Does Augusta Zoysia get thatch build up?

Augusta Zoysia has low thatch production. A good lawn reno come spring will keep it healthy and get rid of any sponginess that lies underneath.
